A Message From Our Founder/Director

Growing up in the city of Detroit in a single parent home I was faced with many obstacles. However, I have truly been blessed to be surrounded by confidant, loving, God- fearing women whom contributed to the confidence I have today. Because of them, I consistently convey to my two daughters the value of having strong self-worth.

Like many young girls I too, made many poor choices throughout my life and did not realize my true self-worth. However, with God’s grace, prayers, encouragement and guidance I realized I was a precious gift from God and with determination I could accomplish any goal that I set my mind to.

As an adult working in the Social Work field and seeing first-hand how young adults struggle at times with life development skills, I feel an obligation to empower young girls as they make the transition from adolescence to womanhood. It is my true belief that even though life presents several challenges, when a young adult knows their true self-worth and is inspired to reach their full potential they will strive to overcome any obstacle, and recognize their value.

It is my hope and prayer that God will not only use me, but the diligent board members and volunteers, to touch the lives of young girls and inspire them to become confident women who will transform their communities.

Blessings,

Alicia Loundmon, Founder and Executive Director of Girlz N Tune Inc.
